FAQ

Your Questions About Adult ADHD Assessments – Answered.

We understand that pursuing an ADHD assessment is a big decision, and you may have many questions. Below are some of the most common queries we receive. If you have others, don’t hesitate to get in touch

What if I’m not sure I have ADHD?

That’s absolutely fine — many people seek assessment because they want to explore the possibility. You don’t need to be certain before starting the process. We’ll guide you through an evidence-based evaluation, and even if you don’t receive a diagnosis, the assessment often provides helpful insight into your strengths, challenges, and support options.

How much does it cost?

The full assessment process costs £500.
This is a one-off fee that includes:

  • A free 20-minute initial call
  • Screening questionnaires and background forms
  • A comprehensive 1:1 assessment session (90–120 minutes)
  • A separate informant interview with someone who knew you in childhood
  • A detailed written report with diagnostic opinion and recommendations
  • A free 30-minute follow-up call to discuss your results

There are no hidden charges, and payment is typically taken at the point of booking your assessment session.

Do you offer payment plans?

Currently, we ask for full payment in advance to secure your assessment. However, we understand that this may not be accessible for everyone, and we’re happy to discuss your circumstances where possible. Please let us know during the initial call.

Is the assessment conducted online or in person?

All assessment sessions are conducted online via a secure video platform. This allows us to offer flexible appointments across the UK, including evenings and weekends.

Is the assessment recognised by workplaces and GPs?

Yes. Dr. Anna Batho is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, and her assessments follow NICE guidelines using validated tools. Many clients have used their reports to:

  • Share with GPs to discuss treatment options
  • Support applications for workplace adjustments
  • Provide evidence for university or professional bodies

If you have a specific requirement, let us know during your initial call so we can ensure the report meets your needs.

Do you also assess for autism and anxiety?

We screen for other conditions during this assessment but do not offer formal diagnoses of autism or anxiety. At present, our service focuses specifically on adult ADHD assessments. If we believe another condition may be relevant during your assessment, we will discuss this with you and signpost you to appropriate services.

How do you treat ADHD?

While medication can be helpful for some, ADHD can also be effectively managed without medication, using a range of psychological and practical approaches. These include structured therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps individuals develop skills in organisation, time management, emotional regulation, and reducing overwhelm.

Coaching and behavioural strategies can also support goal-setting, planning, and improving focus in everyday life. Lifestyle changes — like regular exercise, sleep routines, and reducing distractions — can make a significant difference, and many people benefit from psychoeducation to better understand how their brain works and develop self-compassion.

We can guide you through these non-medical strategies and help you find what works best for your individual needs.
